For families living in Qatar

Plan your overseas university journey from Qatar.

If your family is based in Doha or elsewhere in Qatar, bring your academic profile and long-term plans into the same conversation. We help you frame the choices before you begin an overseas application.

Discuss your study plans

Consider Qatar’s guidance before selecting the course

Qatar’s Ministry of Education and Higher Education publishes information about pre-approval for overseas study and university degree equivalency. If these processes apply to your intended return, funding or employment arrangements, check the current rules with the Ministry before enrolling.

Clarify the institution, campus, programme and study mode when seeking a decision. An institution’s name alone may not answer the questions that matter for your particular qualification.

Build the application around your school timeline

Share your school board, subjects and the timing of predicted and final results. Ask the university how a conditional offer works and which documents must be final before registration. This is especially useful when an intake deadline comes before the release of school results.

If you have studied in more than one country, identify where each qualification was awarded so document preparation can be considered early.

Explain the student’s nationality and future plans

Qatar residence and citizenship are different pieces of information. A family living in Qatar may need to consider destination requirements linked to another passport and professional requirements linked to a third country. Tell us where the student intends to work or continue studying after graduation.

Medical pathways require a separate review of professional licensing considerations; they cannot be selected solely on admission eligibility.

Keep your family’s departure plan realistic

Compare the complete cost of study with living and travel expenses, and align departure with confirmed admission and student entry arrangements. Arrival or enrolment assistance should be identified in the agreed service scope. No Qatar office or government affiliation is implied by this page.

Your questions

A clearer next step.

Does a university offer replace Qatar’s approval or equivalency process?

No. A university’s admissions decision is distinct from any applicable Qatar Ministry process. Review the current official guidance for your circumstances before enrolling.

Can expatriate families in Qatar make an enquiry?

Yes. Include the student’s nationality, qualification and future study or work plans so the relevant checks can be discussed.
